Welcome to Frost Wink!
Hey there, friend! I’m Megan Parker, the heart, hands, and hungry spirit behind Frost Wink—a cozy corner of the internet dedicated to recipes that turn everyday meals into memories. Whether you’re here for a comforting breakfast, a crowd-pleasing appetizer, a show-stopping dessert, or that perfect dinner idea, you’re in the right place. My philosophy? Good food is meant to be shared, savored, and celebrated—no matter your skill level or background in the kitchen.
If you’ve seen my recipes featured in The Daily Spoon, or followed along as I cooked my way to the finals in the Taste Makers Challenge, welcome! Maybe you’ve caught a glimpse of my collaborative series with Home Table Magazine or found a Frost Wink creation trending on Pinterest. Each step has deepened my love for connecting with fellow food lovers, and has taught me that food isn’t just sustenance—it’s joy, healing, and community. The biggest lesson I’ve learned? Food has the quiet power to bring us together, one shared bite at a time.
Over the years, I’ve had the chance to teach workshops, guest-judge local bake-offs, and write for kitchen brands I truly admire. These experiences reinforced my belief that food should be approachable, exciting, and always authentic. My mission here is to share the best of what I’ve learned—failures, triumphs, and delicious surprises included—so that you can cook with confidence and maybe even discover your own food philosophy along the way.

How It All Started
My journey with recipes started on quiet Saturday mornings, perched on a kitchen stool beside my grandmother, flour dust in the air and laughter echoing off the walls. It was in those simple, beautiful moments—cracking eggs, tasting batter, sneaking chocolate chips—that I discovered a true love for cooking. What began as family tradition quickly turned into personal passion. I loved the way food could light up someone’s face, change the mood of a whole room, or bring everyone to the table.
As I grew older, my curiosity about flavors and techniques only deepened. There were mishaps (lots of them!), joyful kitchen wins, and endless scribbles in my recipe journal. I realized that cooking was more than a hobby; it was my favorite form of creative expression. And more than anything, I wanted to share that feeling with others—showing that anyone, truly anyone, could make something special at home.
So, I decided to turn my recipe journals, family stories, and late-night kitchen experiments into something bigger—a digital home for all things delicious. Frost Wink was born from that dream: a space to inspire, teach, and connect over food. My greatest hope? That you’ll feel right at home here, inspired to try something new, and always welcomed back for seconds.
Why You Can Trust Me
With over 14 years of kitchen experience—ranging from my first bakery job at age 17, to leading cooking classes for local families—I bring a blend of professional know-how and real-life, everyday cooking. My background spans hands-on kitchen work, formal culinary courses, and years of self-taught experimentation (with a special love for breakfast and dessert). Whether it’s perfecting a flaky pastry or developing a weeknight dinner that’s both fast and fabulous, I never share a recipe until it’s been tested in my own home… multiple times.
Quality matters deeply to me. Every recipe here is developed, photographed, and taste-tested by me (and my brave, always-hungry taste testers). I focus on clear, step-by-step instructions, and I strive to answer the questions you might have before you even have to ask. From researching ingredient swaps to troubleshooting tricky techniques, I’m committed to getting it right—so you can cook with confidence every time.
I take pride in the visuals, too. Each photo you see is styled and shot by me, with a goal to capture not just the food, but the feeling—the steam curling from a fresh-baked scone, or the first creamy scoop of a homemade dessert. Food is visual, emotional, and, above all, personal. I want you to see the delicious details before you taste them!
When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll find me hiking forest trails (often plotting my next recipe), reading up on food history, or exploring new local bakeries. I love connecting with other food lovers, learning from different cultures, and finding inspiration in unexpected places. Every new discovery—whether it’s a spice, a story, or a technique—finds its way back into the recipes I share with you.
Most of all, I believe in continuous learning. The world of food is ever-changing, and I’m always chasing that next “aha!” moment. My commitment is to keep bringing you recipes that are tested, trusted, and truly worth your time—and to share the behind-the-scenes journey along the way.
